Our team here at Dartmouth Nissan created this Nissan Rogue dashboard light guide for our customers in Dartmouth, New Bedford, Fall River, and the surrounding Massachusetts communities. Why is that?
Because we want you to drive a healthy Nissan Rogue—and one of the easiest ways to ensure that you’re driving a healthy Nissan Rogue is to heed its dashboard warnings, symbols, icons, etc. If you manage to take care of what they’re telling you to do, you shouldn’t have too many issues. Ok?
Nissan Rogue: Warnings, Symbols, Icons, etc.
Seat Belt Warning Light. Fasten your seatbelt…not only could it save your life, but it’s actually the law!
Power Steering Warning Light. Power steering makes it a lot easier to turn your wheel, especially during difficult driving predicaments. Don’t drive without your power steering—schedule an appointment now.
Low Tire Pressure Warning Light. U.S. cars are required to be equipped with a Tire Pressure Monitoring System. Therefore, if your tire pressure is too low, your Nissan Rogue will let you know with an icon that looks like an exclamation point within a tire. If they aren’t properly filled, you’re truly risking your safety.
Charge Warning Light. The Nissan Rogue’s Charge Warning Light looks like a battery, with positive and negative symbols and all. Oftentimes, difficulty starting the engine is attributed to the charge system.
Brake Warning Light. Depending on your trim level and your model year, it’ll either look like the word BRAKE (in all capital letters) or an exclamation point enclosed within a circle. Keep your brakes working, folks.
Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS) Warning Light. This one is simply the abbreviation ABS (in all caps). It’s there to let you know that your Anti-Lock Braking System isn’t functioning properly. This can be quite a serious situation, as it’s the system that ensures you don’t completely lose traction while trying to brake.
Miscellaneous Symbols and Indicators:
- Cruise Main Switch Indicator
- Front Fog Light Indicator
- Front Passenger Air Bag Status
- High Beam Indicator
- Malfunction Indicator
- Overdrive OFF Indicator
- Security Indicator
- VDC Off Indicator
- And a bunch more!
There are too many dashboard lights to include here. If you have any further questions about any of ’em (or, if you’re noticing one that we didn’t list here), please don’t hesitate to get in touch with us now. Ok?
