2022 Nissan Pathfinder: Returning to Its Roots
While a lot has changed since the late 80s, the innate human desire to become one with nature continues to stand the test of time.
This upcoming iteration of the Pathfinder stays true to its off-roading roots with a rugged and durable design. Facing forward, you'll notice a V-motion grille along with C-shaped LED headlights and Daytime Running Lights, which come standard on every Pathfinder.
While we're at the front, let's open up the hood and see what's cooking. Powering up this vehicle is Nissan's standard 3.5L Direct Injection V6 engine, which nets 284 horsepower, 259 lb-ft of torque, and 3,500 pounds of towing capacity when properly equipped.2
Accompanying this engine is an all-new 9-speed automatic transmission with an electronic shift-by-wire drive selector.
Adding to this collection of capabilities is the Pathfinder's Intelligent 4WD with seven drive and terrain mode selections. Take on Massachusetts's harsh winters with Snow Mode or any backroad by switching to Sand or Mud/Rut Mode.
Nissan Pathfinder: An Inspiring Interior
Every successful adventure requires the right gear. Luckily, the 2022 Nissan Pathfinder has the cargo space to carry it all, and then some-a maximum 80.5 cubic feet of cargo volume with both the second- and third-row seats folded, to be specific.
When you need a combination of cargo and passenger space, the flexibility of the Pathfinder provides 45 cubic feet of volume behind the second row and 16.6 cubic feet behind the third row.
Speaking of cargo, this upcoming SUV will offer an optional motion-activated power liftgate, enabling you to load and unload the car hands-free.
The liftgate is just one of the Pathfinder's many innovative features. You'll find plenty of additional tech inside the cabin, like standard NissanConnect® with Apple CarPlay® and Android AutoTM as well as an available 13-speaker Bose® Premium Audio System.
2022 Nissan Pathfinder: Confidence-Boosting Safety
Our 2022 Nissan Pathfinder preview concludes with a look at some standard and available safety options. Nissan knows the importance of safety, which is exactly why you'll find a ton of safety features in the new Pathfinder.
In fact, with Nissan Safety Shield® 360, you'll have the benefit of six innovative safety systems, all standard. Check out some of them:
- Blind Spot Warning
- High Beam Assist
- Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection
- Lane Departure Warning
Looking at these features, you can see all the assistance you'll have on the road. However, for even more safety, the available Intelligent Lane Intervention detects if you're drifting from your lane and can tap the brakes to get you back on track.
