Have you been a Nissan Titan owner for a while? Maybe you just got behind the wheel on the Dartmouth, New Bedford, and Fall River, MA, roadways. Whatever the case may be, you will want to make sure that you are in tune with its condition, able to care for it and provide it with service when necessary.
Accordingly, our team here at Dartmouth Nissan has put together this Nissan Titian dashboard light guide. Follow along to learn more about your truck's dash lights and what they mean.
Charge Warning Light
A light you may see is the Charge Warning Light. It looks like a Lego with a plus (+) symbol in the top right and a minus (-) symbol in the top left, blinking red. This light indicates an issue within your charging system, which encompasses parts like your battery, generator belt, alternator, and others. To get to the bottom of the issue, you'll want to seek out service.
Low Tire Pressure Warning Light
If you're tire pressure is low, it can negatively affect your MPG and the overall performance of your vehicle. Luckily, your Titan will tell you when its tires need air, triggering a light on accordingly. This warning light will blink yellow and looks like an exclamation point inside a partially flattened tire.
Brake Light
As you likely know, your braking system is highly important to your safety and security behind the wheel. As such, it will be important to know when this system needs attention. Fortunately, its warning light is self-explanatory - a red light that reads "BRAKE." This can point to an issue with your parking brake or brake fluid.
Engine Oil Pressure Warning Light
The Engine Oil Pressure Warning Light indicates low oil pressure. This is critical light, manifesting as a container that is dripping oil. The light will appear red in color, and you will want to pull over and shut down your vehicle immediately if it triggers on, calling for service attention, too.
Malfunction Indicator Light
The Malfunction Indicator, widely knows as the Check Engine Light, appears as an engine block. It can blink red or yellow in color and indicate a number of different things - emission control, engine misfire, etc. - you'll need to have the vehicle looked at to determine what has triggered it on.
Master Warning Light
The Master Warning Light can mean a number of things, too. It will appear as either a red or yellow exclamation point inside a triangle. Often, it accompanies another warning light, so this will tell you more accurately why the lights are on.
