Nissan safetyOf course, while it’s all well and good to talk about how celebrated this package is, many drivers are still asking the question, “What is NissanConnect®?” and are curious as to why it’s so widely praised. With that in mind, let’s take a look at the various information, entertainment, and safety features you’ll get on your new Nissan vehicle and how they take your driving experience to the next level. If you want to learn more, reach out to our team at Dartmouth Nissan!

What Is NissanConnect®?

Nissan connect screenNissanConnect® is an integrated suite of entertainment, information, and security features that come together to allow you to control your infotainment experience in a way that has never been done before. While lots of vehicles offer smartphone integration, this suite allows you to fully integrate your smartphone with your entire car control system.

From an information and entertainment standpoint, the package allows you to access all your favorite smartphone apps right from your car’s touchscreen interface. Listen to your favorite music on Pandora® or iHeartRadio, use Google® for navigation, and keep in touch with friends via Twitter® and Facebook®, all right through your vehicle dashboard.

The high-tech system also allows for voice commands, so you can make calls or send text messages all with the power of your voice! It’s the ultimate in hands-free communication, so you can keep your eyes on the road and not on your phone.

How Does It Work?

You can set up the system to work with your car two different ways. The first step in either method is to download the app from the Google Play or Apple Store. From here, most phones will simply sync via Bluetooth® to set up the app. An iPhone with a navigation system, on the other hand, requires a USB interface to set up. Just plug in the phone to your car’s USB port and you’ll be up and running in no time!

NissanConnect® Services

NissanConnect® Services, a newer feature in the package, is powered by your SiriusXM® Satellite Radio. This cutting-edge app allows you to gain access to a wide range of information and even call for help when you need it. It also lets you stay connected to your car, even when you’re away. You can remote start the car, flash your lights, unlock and lock doors, and even honk the horn!

In addition, several new safety features can hook up directly into your NissanConnect® package. These include emergency calling and roadside assistance, automatic collision notification, and even a stolen vehicle locator. It also allows you to set speed limits for teen drivers.
